Hello, thanks for stopping by.

My name's Beccy. I am a person-centred counsellor (accredited member of the National and Psychotherapy Society NCS22-01238) working with adults and young people in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex.

Whatever you are going through you do not have to do it alone. I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel accepted and truly listened to. My role is not to judge you or tell you what to do. I will not analyse or advise you. I will be honest with you at all times. My strong belief is that you are the expert of your world. I won’t hold all the answers, but through the therapeutic relationship you can feel empowered to access your own inner resources.

Counselling is a unique relationship and I consider it a privilege to be able to witness positive changes and growth in the lives of the people I meet. It could mean that you feel more able to live authentically or have a greater sense of self-belief or self-acceptance. It could be feeling more open and able to face challenges and changes in your life, or to have a better relationship with yourself and others.

Below are some of the issues I regularly work with, however, please don't think any problem is too small to bring to counselling. If something is bothering you, it's important.

  • anxiety / stress

  • low self-esteem

  • living authentically

  • bereavement / loss

  • life changes / transitions

  • relationship / friendship issues

  • change in family dynamics

  • depression

  • identity

  • abuse

  • self-harm

  • bullying

  • unhelpful thought patterns

  • work / academic pressure

Experience / Training

I work with many different people from all walks of life and see both adults and young people both in person and online. Alongside my private counselling practice I also work for Spill, a remote therapy mental health service where I see a diverse range of clients world-wide. I also work at the University of Sussex as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor where I offer long-term, individual support to students.

I have worked with many different age groups; younger people at Change, grow, live and also the YMCA’s local counselling service and also supporting older adults at St. Barnabas’ hospice where I received additional specialist training in bereavement and loss.

I have a degree in person-centred counselling from Brighton University and hold a fully enhanced DBS. As part of my on-going commitment to professional development I have regular clinical supervision and attend regular training and workshops. I am a fully insured, accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCS22-01238) and adhere to their Ethical Framework.
